Early Alfred Dunhill “Unique Lighter” Lift-Arm Lighter, c. late 1920s. An exceptional early French Alfred Dunhill “Unique” lift-arm lighter, dating to the late 1920s and representing one of the most important innovations in lighter design of the early 20th century. This example features Dunhill’s patented lift-arm mechanism, which raises the arm simultaneously to spark the flint and lift the wick cover in a single, elegant motion. The design was first invented in 1919 and became exclusive to Alfred Dunhill beginning in 1926, making early examples such as this highly sought after by collectors.
