Czechoslovakian Bohemia Art Glass Butterfly Candlestick Holder by Jiri Sugajek

This extraordinary vase is made by Bohemian Art Glass Vsetin (B.A.G.) in the Czech Republic during the 1990s. It is an abstract female form with a cobalt blue circular base supporting a shaped clear glass stem with blue slip trailing and orange "arms". The round clear glass head has applied blue "eyes" and supports a blue fluted top. The base has the Bohemian Art Glass label and although not signed bears a striking resemblance to the butterfly candlesticks designed by Jiri Suhajek for Moser. Jiri Suhajek was Art Director at B.A.G. for a time after it started production in 1992.
