MCM "Lily" Candlestick Holders w/ Brass Inserts By Ivar Ålenius Björk for Ystad

This set of two Classic, Mid-Century "Lily" candle holders including the rare inserts designed by Ivar Alenius Bjork for Ystad Metal in Sweden. Crafted from solid brass with matching removable brass candle inserts for taper candles, these sculptural holders exemplify the organic forms and refined craftsmanship of Scandinavian Modern design. Retaining their original Ystad-Metall foundry marks to the underside.

Premiering in 1939 for the Scandinavian Pavilion of the 1939 New York World Fair, designed to fit a taper candlestick, it features a sculptural "Lily" shape.
